Trying something new: What I wore #TXSC13

What you are about to see is something new...something I haven't really ever, ever done on my blog. You know it; I know it: I am not a fashion blogger. BUT, I want to be honest. I adore, look up to, and really appreciate a good style blog. I love clothes (helloooo, I AM female), and I love to dress up. Lately, I've become really good friends with a handful of stylists and so it's just been naturally a new little interest of mine. In NO way, shape or form do I ever plan on being a stylist, or a style blogger, BUT - I do believe in trying new things, and stepping outside of your comfort zone. I want to start sharing a few style posts here and there just because well...it's fun! :) At the beginning of the year, I did make it a New Year's Resolution to get more in touch with my style this year. I suppose I need to do something about that, right?

Unfortunately, with our house situation pretty much being sucktastic and breaking our bank, the last thing I have budgeted for is clothes. Insert a major, "WHOMP! WHOMP!" right here. Home decor, bills, and renovations pretty much have karate kicked any hopes of new fashion gracing the rods of my closet. Usually when I go shopping, it's for a certain occasion, so that whole 'leisurely shopping' thing most girls do...well, it hasn't been able to happen for me as much. I try to stay away from stores, malls, and online shopping (constant battle) and most of my closet is made up of clothes from high school (yes, high school), and college. I've been fortunate enough to add a few new items here and there, but like I said, buying new clothes and keeping up with trends has been on the back-burner for me. I even find myself getting buyers remorse when I DO go shopping.

I've also noticed that working from home has well...made my wardrobe pretty much consist of basketball shorts and a t-shirt. Sexy stuff right there. The other day I actually showered, blow dried and straightened my hair, applied some make-up, AND put on a normal "cute" outfit. I realize this is something I used to do every single day when I was in the corporate world, but now, it's hard to get motivated to do so. When I greeted Drew at the door when he got home from work the other day, the boy did a double take. "MY WIFE!" he said. I knew right then and there I needed some type of "accountability" to make me actually look like a decent human being during the week. How sad right? Haha. I also want my husband to actually WANT to come home to me muhahahaw. I'm sure he doesn't like walking in and seeing something out of The Walking Dead. ;)

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is there might be a few styled posts around here from time to time. I will still be sharing my silly life, full of ups and downs, my randomness, and my photography because that's where my heart is. My blog will be the same...just with a little more style I suppose.

Now you can imagine my excitement when I received an e-mail from the sweet girls at Lulu's asking if I'd like to wear some of their items at #TXSC13. I was giddy as all get out and totally geeking out with hearts in my eyes as I browsed their online catalog. (A special shout out goes to my love Jenni for introducing me to such an awesome store and such a credible company) As you know, I haven't done a lot of sponsored posts on this blog in the past but I do believe in sharing good products when I run across them. I've decided that it's OKAY to want to share the things I am diggin' yaknowwhatimean? Lulus definitely being one of them.

This chartreuse dress is comfortable and so fun to wear. My closet is luh-ving it! :)
